Our rivers and shores bear the mark of our bad habits, as litter and plastics find their way into streams and tides, tolling the health of wildlife, water quality and communities downstream. In Still Bay, a group of some 150 volunteers has answered the call, cleaning up the spaces in and around Still Bay.
With the backing of a Friends of the Biosphere, the Coastal Clean-up Enhancement Project was able to acquire new tools to keep every hand safe and every effort swift. Armed with lined gloves, pickers, and other safety gear, this wonderful team is continuing to clean up Still Bay.
Meeting frequently, this team has whisked away countless bags of waste, guarded fragile habitats and worked to keep their town and beaches tidy. To every volunteer who joined in the work, we offer our deepest thanks.
