Erika Nature

Erika Primary in Mossel Bay embarked on a project to create a green space for learners to nurture. Many of these students come from homes and communities without gardens or trees, making this initiative an important step in bringing nature closer to them.

The green space was designed to be used during lunch breaks, school holidays, and weekends, providing students with a peaceful environment while also educating them on gardening and environmental care. With the funds provided, the school was able to source seedlings and gardening equipment to establish and maintain this space.

The school has now established a nature club where learners from Grade R right through to Grade 7 will continue utilise the gardening equipment purchased for this project to further develop their green space.

We are delighted to have been able to support this initiative through the contributions of our Heroes, and look forward to seeing how the green space continues to benefit Erika Primary’s learners in the years to come.
